Founding Partner, Unique Development
David brings over 20 years of experience as a bank founder and president, including co-founding Community South Bank & Trust where he helped grow a $300MM asset institution across six locations. He has led more than $30MM in multifamily development across Greenville and Spartanburg counties and holds a Broker in Charge license. His background in financial underwriting and deal structuring gives The Unique Group a distinct advantage in evaluating and financing complex real estate transactions.
Michel Hulsey
Mananging Partner, Unique Development
Michel leads land acquisition and development strategy for Unique Development. He brings experience from institutional homebuilding, including land acquisition and entitlements for a publicly traded national homebuilder, and serves on the Home Builders Association’s Government Affairs Committee with active relationships across the local development and planning community.
Rob Johnson
Founding Partner, Unique Development
Rob brings 30 years of experience managing the operations of multiple companies, backed by his credentials as a Certified Public Accountant. His real estate background includes leading a multifamily investment fund focused on acquiring and repositioning distressed properties, with over $25MM in renovations completed. His combination of operational discipline and financial expertise provides The Unique Group with the organizational foundation to execute at scale.
Lynn Spencer
Founding Partner, Unique Development
Lynn has been shaping the commercial real estate landscape of Upstate South Carolina for nearly 40 years. As co-founder of Spencer/Hines Properties, one of the region’s most recognized commercial firms, he has built a career around development assemblages, land transactions, and commercial brokerage across retail, office, industrial, and special-use properties. A CCIM designee and CoStar Power Broker, Lynn brings deep local relationships and market knowledge that few in the region can match.
